Following a tip from my friend Ryan at Second Verse, I switched from Bloglines to Google Reader earlier this week. I couldn't be happier—it's a much faster and more intuitive interface for managing my subscriptions.

Hiya. Just checked out Google Reader. It seems very good and of course very googley.
I have to admit that I don't yet see a big advantage over using http://www.google.com/ig as I do now for my RSS feeds. It clearly has more features, but so far none of those features has sparked the "ah ha!" in me. I think this has more to do with the fact that I am slow than with any deficiency in Google Reader. Can you help me see the light? What's the big benefit?
For work and fun, I keep an eye on over thirty blogs on about a dozen topics (sustainbility, media, marketing, arts and technology, online gaming, etc.). There are three or four aggregators and pundits that I check in with on a daily basis, but feed aggregators like Bloglines or Reader help me keep abreast of a wider range of issues without having to dedicate 3 hours a day to blog reading.
I haven't used Google home page so can't do a direct comparison, but I suspect that Reader has more robust functionality to do quick scans, see who has posted recently, organize feeds by topic, and bookmark articles for later reading.
